Why do we sometimes comply with a request or order that conflicts with our values or views, even when we are not obliged to? This form of obedience has no place in companies: it benefits neither managers, who cannot question their practices, nor employees, who comply without understanding and cannot develop.<\/p>\n<p>How can managerial authority exist without authoritarianism? What helps managers lead through explanation and trust?
